The first Ski World Cup race took place on Dec 21, 1986. Armin Bittner won this slalom event. Regular skiing contest followed. Two races had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
The demanding Bärenalm race track even challenged super stars such as Marc Giradelli, Alberto Tomaba, Hermann Maier, Michael von Grüningen and others.
Since 2006, the new race track from the mid station of Hutter Höss to the town center of Hinterstoder has been open. This sequence is an interesting slope not only for ski pros.
